Two persons die while cleaning a well in Kupwara village | KNO

Kupwara, July 09 (KNO): Two persons including a ward member died while cleaning a well in Chalgund Halmatpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday afternoon. Locals told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that two persons died inside a well and later were retrieved by a joint team of Police, SDRF and locals at Chalgund Halmatpora village. They said that they fell unconscious while cleaning a well at Ganai Mohalla in Halmatpora   following which a police team was rushed to the spot. “Later the duo were retrieved by a joint team of police, SDRF and locals after hectic efforts.” The deceased have been identified as Ghulam Nabi and Mahad Ganaie-both the residents of Chalgund Halmatpora.  Ghulam Nabi was also a ward member. Block medical officer Kupwara, Dr. Zaffar Akbar told KNO that the duo was brought dead to hospital and further medical procedure was under and a postmortem will also be done—(KNO)
